Privacy Policy

CheerKid™ ("the App") is designed for children and their families. We take your privacy — and especially the privacy of children — extremely seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Who We Are

CheerKid™ is an independent application. For support inquiries, contact us through the parent settings menu in the app.

2. Data We Collect

Family Code: Stored on our servers (Cloudflare D1) to link family members. PIN: Stored locally in your browser only — never transmitted to our servers.
Child's first name: Stored locally on the parent's device only. It is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party.
Video clips: Uploaded by family members through the Family Dashboard. Stored temporarily on Cloudflare R2 until downloaded to the child's device, then served locally. Clips are stored only until a parent deletes them.
Relative names: Used to identify who sent a clip. Not linked to any account or identity.
Device data: We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses beyond standard server logs, or usage analytics.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect email addresses.
We do not collect location data.
We do not create profiles on children.
We do not track in-app behaviour or usage patterns.
We do not use advertising SDKs or trackers of any kind.
We do not share any data with third parties for advertising or marketing.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)

CheerKid is designed for use by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. The child never creates an account, never inputs personal information, and never interacts directly with our servers. All data collection is handled through the parent's device and account only.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable international child privacy regulations. Parents may request deletion of all family data at any time by contacting us.

5. Data Storage & Security

PINs are stored locally in your browser's localStorage only and never sent to any server. Recovery answers are stored as SHA-256 hashes.
Video clips are stored on Cloudflare R2 with private access controls. Only devices with the correct Family Code can access clips.
All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Clips are deleted from our servers within 30 days of rejection by a parent.

6. Parental Rights

As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:

Review all data stored for your family
Delete any or all clips at any time through the Parent Management screen
Delete your family's account and all associated data
Revoke access for any family member at any time

7. Third-Party Services

CheerKid uses Cloudflare (Workers, D1, R2, Pages) for infrastructure. Cloudflare may process data in accordance with their own privacy policy. No other third-party services with data collection capabilities are used.
